Our Massage Therapist
Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage can help to decrease pain, inflammation stress and muscular tension. As well, Massage Therapy helps to increase circulation, range of motion, relaxation and a tense of well-being for all participants.
All Residents who participate in Massage Therapy undergo an initial assessment that includes filling out a medical history form and providing the therapist with specific information regarding the Residents concern or complaint. All information is strictly confidential.
Together the Massage Therapist, who is a licensed regulated health professional, and is a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and the Resident, work out a plan which best benefits the Resident and his/her concern or issue.
Residents do not have to leave the comfort of their own apartment. Treatments can take place in the Resident’s own living room! You are also welcome to use the massage therapy room located in the Wellness Centre. Seated, in-chair massages along with various remedial exercises, stretching and warm or cold packs may help to relieve stiff necks, sore backs, headaches, paint, muscle spasms, strains and sprains.
